Kickstand regularly runs workshops on bike mechanics and support skills. These workshops are FREE for active Kickstand volunteers and $15-$25 sliding scale for community members. Come learn about bikes with us!
We are not currently offering workshops, please check back later in the summer, or follow us on facebook.
We are inviting people who identify as women, gender queer and trans* to our fun filled bike mechanics nights between 6:30 and 8:30 pm on the 2nd and 4th TUESDAYS OF EACH MONTH. Our community is working towards being a radically inclusive space and with that in mind we are excited to host these evenings for individuals who have not traditionally been a dominant part of the bike industry. The nights will be facilitated by bike mechanics and volunteers who are also female or gender variant. We strive to create a safer space where learning, positive vibes and fun happens!
On these evenings, SHOP TIME IS FREE. This means you will have access to all tools and experienced bike mechanics will be available to answer your questions and help you fix your bike! Also, between 7:30 – 8:30 the mechanics will be giving basic bike mechanics workshops, with a new topic each week.
Bike Club is a FREE drop-in bicycle mechanics program for people aged 12-19 years old. The program runs at Kickstand on Tuesday afternoons. Each week starts at 3:30pm with a half hour bike mechanics workshop on a different topic and open shop hours run from 4pm-6pm where youth can either work on their own bikes with our support or can volunteer with us on shop projects to build their skills and gain credits that they can exchange for used parts. Facilitated by Ari 05 and Duby FlowRito (Ari Ng and Sarah FioRito). Contact email@example.com for more info!
DIY Kids Bike Library
The Do-It-Yourself Kids Bike Library invites families to come to the shop to learn how to fix up a kids bike to take home with them. Mechanical support and access to tools and replacement parts will be provided by donation. No one turned away for lack of funds!
